Why I’m not actively maintaining several sketchbooks is unbeknownst to me. This shit needs to change ASAP. I think things will seriously come together when I begin to realize the shrinking distance between my art and design practice. I’ll need to begin asserting this as my main goal, thereby possibly requiring some serious collaborations/mergers real soon.

Random Design Project Generator

Is complete (for now). It’s crude. It requires manual updates across interior Flash files and XML functionality. It’s totally hacked together, but it serves its purpose quite well. Oh, and I just discovered the wonderful world of website-widget creation. Word.

Here’s a some random output (color palettes withheld):

- In any style of your choosing, create some print collateral material about kids and camouflage.

- In any media of your choosing, create something that is vintage in style and about kittens and plateaus.

- Create a weathered paper style T-shirt design about the occult and medical operations.

- Create a vintage style animation of sexy girls.

And here’s a preview pic of that last one:

(”undefined” means that category didn’t hit. I have sub-categories with a 50% and 25% chance of reporting something back)

For the past couple weeks I’ve been in some awesome meetings with local business-architects, consultants, start ups, and young ad agency/marketing firms… very promising! Anyways, I’ve updated the design portion of the site with a couple new quickies.

Well the IDEA Wiki is up. Next step is to hack together the flash generator. I have an idea for how to stitch up something workable. The Art CV needs updating and this job thing needs to happen.

While I’m working through these “chores” I’m happy to say that the next series of paintings are in progress. Since there’s no deadline I think these are going to be a little more tight.

Wiki Woes

Whoa. Installing a wiki is quite easy. Getting it to work without conflict and database maintenance on my server end is a total pain. I really love the IDEA (IDea Every Afternoon) concept, but think it will be easier to just use Vanilla to maintain it.

Oh well.
